Almanac is Minnesota’s longest-running public affairs show. When it debuted in 1984, Almanac upended the traditional public affairs format by combining balanced reporting, thoughtful analysis and a one-of-a-kind mix of Midwest quirkiness. Cathy Wurzer has co-hosted Almanac since 1994 and received several regional Emmys for her work. Cathy is also the voice of morning radio on Minnesota Public Radio. Cathy has written several books, including “Tales of the Road: Highway 61.” In addition to TPT and MPR, Cathy’s been heard and seen on WCCO Radio and TV, KSTP radio and KMSP-TV.

David Gillette first appeared on Almanac in 2006 and currently serves as the show’s special correspondent. David’s work often combines traditional field reporting with illustrated commentary, and his “Illustrated Essays” have appeared on PBS both regionally and nationally. During the legislative session, David serves as a co-host and reporter for Almanac at the Capitol.
