Bain Boehlke’s vision, drive and passion propelled The Jungle Theater from a Mexican beach-front daydream into a reality. Today, those same three qualities breathe life into production after production upon the Jungle’s stage. Known for inhabiting the world of his productions down the smallest detail--to the dead flies caught in cobwebs--Boehlke is something of a mythical character in the Twin Cities theater scene. His theatrical roots reach back to his childhood, and he was one of the founding members of Children’s Theatre Company in the 1960s before creating his own theatrical home. Now, as founder and Artistic Director of the Jungle Theater, Boehlke has championed more than 20 seasons, with the fall of 2012 marked by its production of Samuel Beckett’s classic, Waiting for Godot.
